France à Tarnacは、2013年10月に、フランスの田舎町Tarnacのコミューンで行われたライブレコーディングで、本作では、ラジオ番組、Ondes Magnétiques で放送時の紹介が最初と最後に収録されています。
France are a three piece band, drums, bass and hurdy gurdy, from France. They were founded in 2005 and since then have released a selection of live and studio recordings on both their own Standard In-Fi label and some others including Kraak. It was at the Kraak festival in Belgium that we first came across them. Their performance kicked off the festival and at the end of the day remained unsurpassed. The music fuses dense rhythmic patterns and string drones reminiscent of Tony Conrad and ranges from being soothingly meditative to exhilaratingly abrasive from recording to recording and sometimes within the same piece.
France à Tarnac is a live recording of a concert the band played in a commune in rural France in October 2013. It was originally broadcast on the Ondes Magnétiques radio programme on Radio Vassivière. The CD includes the introduction and closing segments of the radio programme. Many thanks to the band and to Ondes Magnétiques for allowing us to release this performance.

Love this group, repetitive in a way you just go with it.You get lost in it,then you hear or perceive subtle changes and this alters what you think you are experiencing.I believe I have been listening to this forever, but I am not sure. Michael Carter
