After spending 11 years in Tokyo, I moved to Kanazawa . After this move, I was often invited to the events of the label Sukima Industries in Kansai, and the place that was often used as a live venue was SPACE EAUUU in Kobe. The group that the owner of the space often played in at the time was a group called Minor House, and although it was a simple duo of keyboard and electric guitar, it was a mature performance that knew how to choose tones and when to listen. It was like an experienced carpenter using a plane with a delicate hand. Although the plane is sharp it also has an idyllic side, as if it were sharpened while drinking tea on the porch of the sound house they wanted to create. Their open and unassuming live performances, unrelated to the eccentric characters and self-consciousness that are common among Kansai musicians, was so simple that it seemed to be underestimated in a place where the content of the performance itself tends to be pulled by the relationships and images of people in the music scene (such improvisation is not the same as a performance). (Perhaps the problem was that they talked too much about their love of B-movie kung-fu films in between the improvised pieces.)
After a while, I started to get invited to their projects, and I ended up organizing a Minor House concert in Kanazawa myself. At the same time, I learned that Minor House had never recorded any sound recordings since the group's formation, so I thought it would be a good idea to record their outdoor performances in the streets of Kanazawa with a karaoke machine tape deck that I had found at Hard-Off around that time. We started in the precincts of a deserted temple, then went around the underground passageway of Kanazawa Station, parks and museum gardens, and at night played everywhere, including the fish market and the streets after the shutters had come down, and finally played and recorded at the site of Kanazawa Castle. Even though it was an outdoor recording, the two keyboards and guitars were recorded directly through the line input, so the sound of the surrounding field recordings was not captured. However, the performances themselves were heavily influenced by their surroundings, and this album was produced as a documentation of that. After that, however, minor house's activities stagnated for various reasons, and I myself became busy with overseas tours, etc., and many years have passed. But now the album will be released by Kirigirisu Recordings and the shady building will finally see the light of day. With this opportunity, their activities may at last be seen again.

One of the only artists who's work I will buy immediately without previewing. The kind of music that feels like it was conjured in some sort of incantation rather than created by human hands. Olli is a blessing ghosttropics
